Military-industrial influence today?

Eisenhower said that America was beginning to feel the "economic, political, even spiritual" influence of the "military-industrial complex" on every level of government and society. Are we still under that influence today? If so, how do you see those three levels (economic, political, and spiritual) of influence in modern America?
